This was my first psychological thriller, and let me just say… I was not disappointed at all. I actually wanted more!! I hope that there will another book soon, because it ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger.Although people usually talk about the main character Marcus, I really enjoyed reading from Alison’s POV and thought her character development was superb. You can see her go from low self-esteem, shy and simply unsure of herself to a woman who takes back the control in her life and is more sure of herself by the end of the book. Marcus on the other hand… that man is UNHINGED lol. Although he is unhinged, we learn his back story which helps us to know why he is the way he is. That alone made me care about him more as a character, despite the things you learn he is doing in the book. The way this book was written captivated me and had me thinking about it each time I put it down. Definitely give this book a read if you like thrillers, mess, a little bit of spice and great character development!
Following this story of Marcus as his disturbed lifestyle disturbs the lives of his patients after consulting them in their therapy sessions. He does this all while looking down his nose at them and takes it upon himself to rid the world of them. On the same timeline, Alison leads a rough life as a working girl and is pushed to her max physically, mentally and emotionally. Her fight or flight kicks in and people lose their lives. She goes to jail and when the judge calls for a psyche eval, Marcus is brought in to perform the assessment. How will he deal with Alison?
I would classify this book as an erotic thriller and I loved it! I love a book that I can’t figure everything out and this was definitely that book! I would highly recommend this book!
